Donations
Each Sunday, during Mass, there is a collection for the needs of the church. Often, the amount collected is not sufficient to cover the bills, even though we try to keep costs to a minimum - this is when we have to make use of any donations received. To keep our small community going we have to pay for the use of the chapel, we pay the priests who travel to Schiedam each Sunday and some of their travelling expenses, we pay for the organist who accompanies the choir, we pay for the use of the server which stores our website and we pay bank charges.
However, we do not pay the choirmaster who selects the music, the choir, the provider of the monthly children’s liturgy, ,for the bookkeeping, the catering or any of the other work done by people behind the scenes to provide a service each week - this is done by volunteers.
